About Us

Beach Bum Lures was formed in North Carolina by Tim Still, who began his lure-making career in his backyard with a shoe box, a few lead blanks, a couple cans of spray paint and an oversized imagination. Tim, a former college and professional baseball player, started saltwater fishing on the piers and beaches around Virginia Beach and Norfolk. From years of pier and surf fishing for bluefish, spanish mackerel, trout and false albacore, Tim was determined to break the industry molds with new color combinations, patterns and the belief that mostly whatever you can catch from a boat, it’s possible to also catch from the beach, and that Beach Bum Lures can compete with any other lure company. Our flagship metal jig, the Gunslinger Jig TM, is a direct reflection of our mentality: Cast far, reel fast and fight to the finish, win or lose.

Surf Fishing Lures

The Gunslinger Jig is offered in weights of 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1.5 and 2 ounces. The slender design and loop eyelets created maximum action near the surface, triggering reaction strikes from many species of predator fish that patrol the surf zone. The Gunslinger, with the right combination of rod, reel and line, casts as well as any lure in the metals category, will outcast most and is coated with a hard layer of finish for durability.

Pier Fishing Lures

The Pierslinger, the first of its kind, brings a new dimension to pier fishing. The eyelet placement on top of the jig allows the jig to maintain a horizontal trek through the water despite the angler being elevated above the lure. What we have created is the most realistic moving and looking metal jig designed specifically for pier fishing or any situation in which the angler is elevated. We believe the Pierslinger will be the go-to pier metal in the industry.

Offshore Fishing Lures

The Wreck Havoc vertical jig offers the same innovative patterns and color combinations as the Gunslinger series. Whether you are targeting tuna, yellowtail, grouper, kings, or snapper, the Wreck Havoc jig gets the job done in style. Say goodbye to the cookie cutter patterns and gimmicks. The idea of this jig was to create a jig with actual fish characteristics – eyes, scales and flash. All patterns and colors also glow for fishing the depths.
